Visions of Eternity is coming !

Rumors are floating around that the Inquest has conspicously launched a voyage in a search of the legendary island of Castora! A perilous race against the Inquests ambitions will lead you through magical lands full of strange creatures!

Visions of Eternity will include two new maps at launch, and two additional maps in later updates. You'll unlock three new Mastery tracks, including new Skimmer abilities. If you own both VoE and JW, you'll also unlock a new Castoran Homestead.

A new elite specialization for each class, unlocking new playstyles, traits, and utility skills.

Mesmer | Troubadour

Since the firstborn sylvari emerged from the Pale Tree, many have embodied the saying "where life goes-so, too, should you.", exploring every corner of Tyria they could reach. While on their journeys some have taken to regaling the tales of recent famous and infamous figures.

Sylvari mesmers have returned from abroad and developed the Troubadour tradition. Weaving tales and stories into magic, Troubadours express their mesmeric talents through summoning instruments, enchanting allies, and demoralizing foes.

Ranger | Galeshot

Tengu from the Dominion of Winds are stepping outside of their walls to participate in a cultural exchange with the Tyrian Alliance at the behest of their royal houses. One such house is offering to teach the traditions of the galeshot to interested individuals.

Galeshots are tengu archers that are able to summon the four winds to form a powerful cyclone bow. The Cyclone Bow builds up strength as you use skills, giving you a strong finishing move. Galeshots also use their affinity for wind to create squalls and deftly position themselves in the battlefield.

Guardian | Luminary

After scattering Bangar's Dominion and ending the charr civil war, the four legions have found the space to work on themselves. The Flame and Iron Legions have combined efforts into a joint project and created the Luminary!

The Luminary bears an enchanted iron brazier with a powerful sacred flame inside. The bearer can enshroud themselves with this flame to wield powerful flame weapons.

Thief | Antiquary

Accomplished thieves who value thrill more than what they're actually stealing, antiquaries plunder precious artifacts with the help of their skritt assistants.

Necromancer | Ritualist

Traditionally from Cantha, the ritualist is one of the oldest professions in Tyria. Summoning spirits from the mists and binding them to their will, the ritualist gains powerful abilities. Traditionally this is a respectful partnership between a ritualist and their ancestors.

As Cantha spreads to the rest of Tyria, ritualist and necromantic societies are forming ties, mutually increasing the numbers for each faction.

Warrior | Paragon

Elementalist | Evoker

Now that Jormag is gone, the norn have been able to remake old connections with the spirits. An ancient and newly feasible practice, Evokers are able to harmonize with the spirits.

Elementalists can now call upon these spiritual companions and infuse some of their elemental energy to get unique attacks depending on the element of the familiar.

Choose one of four familiars: Fire Fox, Water Otter, Air Hare, or Earth Toad.

Engineer | Amalgam

Revenant | Conduit

Born of the Mists, Razah is a living legend who was freed from the Realm of Torment centuries ago when Abaddon was defeated. Following the hero who freed him, Razah has studied and mastered a wide range of subjects.

No one has seen from Razah after the hero passed centuries ago, but some say he's still observing the world from the Mists, waiting for someone they like to follow again.

New Skimmer!

Adventuring in Castora, you'll come across a new varient of Skimmer, the Wavehawk! Living on the ley magic rich island of Castora has caused the Wavehawks' evolution to diverge from its Elonian cousin.

Skimmer Skills!

Three brand new Skimmer skills can be learned through training the Skimmer Adaptation mastery line.

Aetherlocation: A pulsing, sonar-like signal that detects nearby enemies. While submerged, it also detects nearby hidden treasures.
Slipstream Boost: Increases your Skimmers' base speed for a time. While boosted, your Skimmers' Hover skill will also go higher.
Water Jets: Your Skimmer fires projectiles that damages enemies and heals allies. Continues to fire if held down and you still have ammo.

Skimmer Masteries!

The new Skimmer Adaptation mastery line will unlock new abilites for your Skimmer.

Advanced Hydrodynamics: Grants your Skimmer the ability to dive underwater. If you already have Skimming the Depths trained, Advanced Hydrodynamics will also increase the base speed of your skimmer and stealth when diving in an out of water.
Castoran Intuition: Unlocks the Aetherlocation skill and enhances the Barrel Roll skill. The enhanced version of Barrel Roll allows you to use it multiple times without dismounting at the cost of stamina. Holding the skill down will dismount you as before.
Convergent Evolution: Unlocks the skills Slipstream Boost and Water Jets. If you have the Ride the Wind mastery, you will ascend higher when hovering while Slipstream Boost is active.
Riptide Rider: Your Skimmer can ride ley lines and updrafts above and within water.

Additionally, players will be able to dismount midair and combat mount the Skimmer as a baseline upgrade (No Masteries Required).

Instanced Content in VoE!

Combining Raids and Strike Missions!

In VoE's first major update in early 2026, Raids and Strikes will be merged into the same system, with improvements for access for new players and streamlining rewards.

The new overarching gamemode 'Raids' will have two smaller modes within it:

Raid Wings - The classic multi-encounter raid instances.
Raid Encounters - Strike Missions new name, single bosses.

A new Raid UI will also be introduced in the first major update!

New Raid Encounters!

VoE will have two new raid encounters! The first one will come with a challenge mode in the first major update in early 2026. The second will come in a later update, with a challenge mode and legendary mode.

New Convergence!

A new Convergence will come in a later update.

New Fractal!

A new Fractal with a CM will come in the final update.

One of the weapons and the aquabreather will come when VoE launches. The ring, accessory, and other weapons will come later.

New Homestead!

If you own Janthir Wilds and Visions of Eternity, you will be able to unlock a new Castoran homestead! Tour around Comosus Isle on a ley line trail emanating from the nearby rock formation! Your new homestead includes a three-story suite that is fully furnished including a kitchen, bedroom, and dining room. If you'd prefer a blank canvas, the entire house and decorations can be removed and placed in your decorations inventory.

The new layouts feature lets you save the layout of your homestead in an XML file. The layout can be shared with other players! Advanced users will be able to edit these XML files with a text editor, allowing modular editing of the layouts. Loading a layout will place only the decorations you own, but it will tell you what you're missing.

A new decorating skill, Place Duplicate, will be added to the decoration tools. Place Duplicate will allow you to duplicate an already-placed decoration exactly where it is (assuming you have more in your inventory). This will make it easier to align multiple items together, especially walls of structures and fences.

Layouts and Place Duplicate will also come to guild halls and do not require owning the expansion.

Layout compatibility notes:

Different homestead layouts (JW ⇄ VoE) do not translate well, as the map coordinates are not lined up.
Same with guild halls.
Guild hall layouts don't translate to Homesteads and vice versa, as guild hall decorations are fundamentally different from homestead decorations.
If you don't have the required amount of decorations, the layout will place the ones you do have and then list the ones you need to finish.
